Martha Kay Salinas writes young adult fiction about teens dealing with gritty, real-life issues. She enjoys creating characters braver than she dares to be. Endowing them with the strength to conquer evil is one of her greatest pleasures.
In an earlier life, Martha worked as an elementary teacher, a reading and dyslexia specialist, a school counselor, and a marriage and family therapist. She also spent a number of years as a stay-at-home mom. Hardest job ever! She has two sons who have grown up nicely and she’s married to her high school sweetheart. A native Texan, she lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
